Tax-Deductibility of Donations

Adopted from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. As a donor, you have the right:
- To be informed of the organization's mission and intended use of donated resources.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on the governing board.
- To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
- To be assured your gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
- To be assured information about your donation is handled with confidentiality.
- To expect that all relationships with the organization will be professional in nature.
- To be informed whether those soliciting are volunteers, employees, or paid solicitors.
- To have the opportunity for your name to be deleted from mailing lists.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.
Use of Funds
Donations support our charitable programs, including sponsoring classrooms, providing school uniforms, food, medical care, baby supplies, vehicles, and reasonable salaries for caregivers and program staff. A portion of every gift may be used to cover necessary administrative and fundraising expenses required to operate the organization responsibly.
We reserve the right to redirect gifts to areas of greatest need if a designated program is fully funded or no longer operating.
Refund Policy
All donations are considered final and non-refundable. If you believe your donation was made in error (for example, duplicate charge or incorrect amount), please contact us within 15 days of the transaction and we will review the request in good faith.
Donor Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. Information collected during a donation โ including name, email, mailing address, and payment details โ is used only to process your gift, send acknowledgments, and provide updates about our work.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information to third parties.
- Payment information is processed by PCI-compliant payment processors and is not stored on our servers.
- You may opt out of communications at any time by contacting us.
Financial Accountability
You Are Not Alone files an annual IRS Form 990 (or 990-EZ/990-N as applicable). Copies of our three most recent returns are available for public inspection upon request, and may also be available through GuideStar / Candid or the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.
